Police Line Do Not Cross (2024 Remaster)

ska / garage / punk / rock

I have a love of ska (grew up with Madness, and of course The Clash could cleverly blend ska and reggae influences), but the wave of ska/ska-punk that came out of southern California (and beyond) in the 90s I found particularly appealing. I just loved the way the groove is carved out of upstrokes on the guitar, and on the offbeat, combined with buzzsaw distortion and punk's DIY ethos. Throw in a brass section and it just gets you moving.

Police Line Do Not Cross was my first attempt at a ska tune. Resplendent with trumpet and trombone, i think it turned out ok. Please leave a comment.
