A collection of B-sides and rarities surrounding the recording of Matt DeMello's 2022 pop-crossover LP, 'Confetti in a Coalmine', 'Canaries for the Cauldron...' consists of a sequence spiked with a "truly unhinged" selection of covers (from a doo-wop version of "Santeria" by Sublime to LCD Soundsystem's "All My Friends" clad with banjos and saloon piano) alongside demos, live takes, and experimental tracks featuring DeMello's long time backing band, the Significant Looks. The collection also includes popular collaborations with vaporwave artists SkyTwoHigh and Luxury Elite for the 2023 single "Failure By Design".
