A compilation of live recordings from various "backing tracks, streaming" performances given by singer-songcylcist Matt DeMello at Green Kill Gallery in Kingston, NY between 2023-4.
Green Kill Gallery is a beloved alternative arts space in the northern Hudson area of New York state. Following the release of his 2022 pop crossover album 'Confetti in a Coalmine', self proclaimed "singer-songcyclist" Matt DeMello trudged on without his long time backing band the Significant Looks, who were scattered across the country thanks to the pandemic.
For the deluxe edition of 'Confetti' arriving this summer, the various "streaming" and live performances to backing tracks performed by DeMello at Green Kill and captured for this collection document his transition into "DJ-based" genres, while retaining his widening scope for symphonic, electronic, and good old guitar pop at the core of his repertoire for two decades.
The resulting 'Live at Green Kill: 2023-4' also features improvised collaborations with avant garde guitarist Federico Balducci over William Basinski's 'Disintegration Loops'.
